              Minjar Festival has been started from 29th of July of this year.

       Minjar Fair is an annual fare organized in the state of Himachal Pradesh. People from all around the world gather in this time to offer prayers to the Laxmi Narayan Temple and celebrate throughout the week.Minjar festival is a kind of a thanksgiving ceremony to the god of rain and a prayer for good harvest. The main attractions of the fair are folk singing and dancing. The fair mirrors the traditions in India in a very well manner. The fair starts with the distribution of Minjar which is a silk tassel worn on front parts of the dress by men and women alike.The Minjar fair starts from the last Sunday of July and continues till one week with great grandeur in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

History of Minjar Festival
 

       Historically river Ravi used to flow between Champawati Temple and Hari Rai Temple, Because of which it was very difficult for people to reach the other temple if they were on either side.The then Raja of himachal Pradesh asked a saint to make the temple of Hari Rai accessible to people. The saint called the Raja and his people to the Champavati Temple and performed a Yaga in which various Sadhus from Benaras were also invited. These sadhus used a colored stick called Minjar to perform yaga. Surprisingly, as a result of this Yaga the course of river Ravi changed and people could easily access The temples.As the Yaga lasted for a week, therefore this fair lasts for a week.

हिमाचल प्रदेश - हिमालय क्षेत्र में सब से बड़ा किला

हिमाचल प्रदेश का सब से प्राचीन किला और हिमालय क्षेत्र में सब से बड़ा किला.
मुग़ल शासक गज़नी ने १००९ में ही इस पर कब्ज़ा किया और उसके बाद १३३७ में मोहम्मद तुगलक ने .लगभग १६० वर्ष यहाँ मुग़ल शासन रहा.

दुर्ग में प्रवेश द्वार 'रंजित सिंह द्वार' पार करके गलियारे से गुजरते हुए अहानि और आमिरी दरवाजे से किले के ऊपरी भाग में पहुंचेंगे. ये दोनों दरवाज़े किले के पहले गवर्नर नवाब अलिफ़ खान ने बनवाए बताये जाते हैं.

मुग़ल शासक जहाँगीर ने १६२० ऐ डी में इस किले पर फतह हासिल की थी और उसका प्रमाण जहाँगीर नामक दरवाज़ा और
यहाँ १९०५ में मिला सफ़ेद संगमरमर का फट्टा है जिस पर जहाँगीर के इस किले को जीतने के बारे में फारसी में खुदा हुआ है.

Achievements of School During Session 2011-12

            

• School bagged Distt. Level Science Quiz and Science Activities trophy ,held in Govt.Boys Senior Secondary School Chamba, and also got Silver Medal in Science activities in State level at Una.
• 2 students have been awarded certificate of merit by HPBOSE Dharamshala.
• Miss Tamanna Sharma topped in Distt. Chamba with aggregate of 88% in 10th standard.
• School bagged trophy of overall winners in Under-19(boys) sports tournament held in GSSS Jadera (Chamba), two of the boys also played on the behalf of the state in state level games in Palampur.
• In under-19 girls ,school is champion of Badminton Since 2002.The girls had bagged the trophy of state level Champions for 10 years.
• School bagged Distt. Level Junior Science Quiz Trophy for the year 2009-2010
