                                          ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION 2012-13
                                                GOVT SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL CHANED

      Annual Prize Distribution Function  of our school was celebrated on 30 th of january.The deputy director higher education was the Chief guest of the function.Our respected principal sir announced for celebrating annual function two weeks before the function. All the students of the school worked hard for organising a well and goood function and they also suceeded in getting this achievement.Al the hard work of the student glittered in the end, when in last chief guest praised school administration for their hard work.
      Cultural programmes were very impressive.When Chief guest arrived the function started with "National Song" Vande Matram.Then Chief guest and all the dignitaries were awarded and respected with badges.Then girls of our school show a very impressive dance on Saraswati Vandana.It was so amajing all the guest of honours show a standing obession to that performance.Next was a chambyali dance and and a chambyali solo song.Then boys performed a skit on Corrupt politicians which was also very praised by everyone.After then bosys and girls with our voice principal sir performed some defensive dmonstation on Karate art.It was most awaiting act of the function.Voice principal sir breahed the tubes over his body.It was first time in Chaned history that this type of act was shown by school students.
      After that Respected principal read out Annual Report of School.The principal of GSSS Udaipur made a short speech and gihe his blessings to students.Every one was emphasizing the speech of Mr. Rampal Sir's speech.Then chief guest give away prizes to the student, and made a short and very impressive speech.After that student performed a classic bhangra, which was the most awaitning performance of the function.
      Then function ended with National Anthem and then there was dham for guest dignitaries and refreshment was given to all the students.Every prize winner was looking cheerful.It was also a beautiful sunny day.

Achievements During CSC 2012

                                     Achievements of School In Children Science Congress 2012

  CSC 2012 Block Level was organised in GSSS Mehla, in which 66 School Participated.

• Mr Gaurav Sharma of our School bagged Ist position in Science Activity, and got selected to Distt level CSC.

  Distt level CSC was organised at GSSS Sarol and more than 500 students participated in it.

• Gaurav Sharma again bagged the first position here and got selected to State level CSC

  State level Children Science Congress was held at GBSSS Chamba more than 800 Students from all over Himachal Pradesh participated in it and with a tough compete with students of other disst he was able to explain away his activities and get CSC 2012 State Level participation momento and batch.

Achievements of School in DSSA Inter School Tournaments

            21st DSSA Inter School Under-19 Boys Tournament

    

         21st DSSA Inter School Under-19 Boys Tournament was held in GSSS Chaned this year and performance of our school was very impressive.

• School bagged the winner trophy of Kabaddi

• Players also showed well disciplined game spirit and bagged the trophy of March Past.

• One player bagged the Gold Medal in Wrestling Event.

• School was runner up of Kho-Kho loosing final by GSSS Musroond.

                           Under-14 Boys Distt Level

          Under-14 students also played well and three of the students got selected to State level games.

                            International Minjar Festival 2012.( Chamba )

              Minjar Festival has been started from 29th of July of this year.

       Minjar Fair is an annual fare organized in the state of Himachal Pradesh. People from all around the world gather in this time to offer prayers to the Laxmi Narayan Temple and celebrate throughout the week.Minjar festival is a kind of a thanksgiving ceremony to the god of rain and a prayer for good harvest. The main attractions of the fair are folk singing and dancing. The fair mirrors the traditions in India in a very well manner. The fair starts with the distribution of Minjar which is a silk tassel worn on front parts of the dress by men and women alike.The Minjar fair starts from the last Sunday of July and continues till one week with great grandeur in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

History of Minjar Festival
 

       Historically river Ravi used to flow between Champawati Temple and Hari Rai Temple, Because of which it was very difficult for people to reach the other temple if they were on either side.The then Raja of himachal Pradesh asked a saint to make the temple of Hari Rai accessible to people. The saint called the Raja and his people to the Champavati Temple and performed a Yaga in which various Sadhus from Benaras were also invited. These sadhus used a colored stick called Minjar to perform yaga. Surprisingly, as a result of this Yaga the course of river Ravi changed and people could easily access The temples.As the Yaga lasted for a week, therefore this fair lasts for a week.
